📱Install the mobile app

OnRaven works on your phone just like a regular app. You can reply to customers, manage campaigns, check billing, and invite team members — all from your pocket. You don't need to download anything from an app store; you install it straight from your browser.


What is the mobile app?

The mobile app is OnRaven's website turned into an app on your phone. It looks and feels like a real app (full screen, its own icon, push notifications), but you install it from your web browser. This is sometimes called a PWA (Progressive Web App). It works on both iPhone and Android.


How to install on iPhone (Safari)

  1. Open Safari on your iPhone (it must be Safari — this won't work from Chrome or Firefox on iPhone).

  2. Go to your OnRaven URL (the web address your admin or company gave you, e.g. app.onraven.com).

  3. Log in if you haven't already.

  4. Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari (the square with an arrow pointing up).

  5. Scroll down in the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen.

  6. You'll see a name ("OnRaven") and an icon. You can change the name if you want.

  7. Tap Add in the top right corner.

  8. That's it! You'll see the OnRaven icon on your home screen. Tap it to open the app.

Tip: After installing, the app opens in its own window (no Safari toolbar). It feels just like a native app.


How to install on Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome on your Android phone.

  2. Go to your OnRaven URL (e.g. app.onraven.com).

  3. Log in if you haven't already.

  4. You may see a banner at the bottom saying "Add OnRaven to Home screen" — tap Install. If you don't see the banner:

    • Tap the three dots menu (⋮) in the top right corner of Chrome.

    • Tap Add to Home screen or Install app.

  5. Tap Install in the confirmation popup.

  6. The OnRaven icon appears on your home screen. Tap it to open the app.

Tip: On some Android phones, you may also see an "Install" button directly in the Chrome address bar.


Turn on push notifications

Once you have the app installed, you can receive notifications when a new customer message comes in — even if the app is closed.

  1. Open the OnRaven app from your home screen.

  2. Tap the More tab at the bottom (the three dots icon).

  3. Under Preferences, you'll see Push Notifications with a toggle switch.

  4. Tap the toggle to turn it on.

  5. Your phone will ask for permission — tap Allow.

  6. Done! You'll now get alerts whenever a customer sends a message.

If the toggle says "Blocked": You previously denied notification permission. To fix this:

  • iPhone: Go to SettingsSafariNotifications → find OnRaven → toggle on.

  • Android: Go to SettingsAppsChrome (or OnRaven) → Notifications → turn on.

After changing the setting, go back to the app and try the toggle again.


What you can do on mobile

The mobile app has four tabs at the bottom of the screen:

Inbox

This is where you reply to customers. You see all conversations in a list. Tap one to open it, then type your message at the bottom and tap Send. It works the same as the desktop Inbox but sized for your phone.

  • Search conversations by name or keyword using the search bar at the top.

  • Messages update in real time — no need to refresh.

  • You'll see a red badge on the Inbox tab when there are active conversations.

Campaigns

View all your connected channels (Web Chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.). From here you can:

  • Turn a campaign on or off using the toggle switch next to each campaign.

  • Change the bot assigned to a campaign. Tap the settings icon (⚙️) on a campaign, then pick a different bot from the dropdown.

That's it — campaign management on mobile is kept simple on purpose.

Billing

Check your plan, credits, and payment info:

  • Current plan — See your plan name, price, and status.

  • Change plan — Tap Change Plan to see available plans and switch.

  • Credits — See your balance and how many SMS or emails that covers. Tap Buy Credits to add more.

  • Payment method — View your card on file. Tap Add Payment Method to add or update a card.

This is your settings and account screen:

  • Your profile — See your name and email at the top.

  • Invite Member — Tap to invite someone to your team. Enter their email, name (optional), and choose a role (Agent, Marketer, or Admin). Tap Send Invitation.

  • View Team — See who's on your team.

  • Dark Mode — Toggle between light and dark theme.

  • Push Notifications — Turn notifications on or off (see above).

  • Billing & Plans — Quick shortcut to the Billing tab.

  • Sign Out — Log out of your account.

Why it matters

Use Safari on iPhone

Only Safari supports installing web apps on iPhone. Chrome and Firefox on iOS won't give you the "Add to Home Screen" option that creates a real app.

Use Chrome on Android

Chrome has the best support for web apps on Android. Samsung Internet also works, but Chrome is the most reliable.

Keep your browser updated

Web app features improve with browser updates. Use the latest version of Safari or Chrome for the best experience.

Allow notifications

Without notifications, you won't know when a customer is waiting for a reply. Turn them on so you never miss a message.

The app works offline

Basic pages will load even without internet. You'll need internet to send and receive messages, but the app won't show a blank screen if your connection drops for a moment.


Troubleshooting

Problem
What to try

Don't see the OnRaven logo on my home screen

Uninstall the app (long press the icon → Remove/Delete), then reinstall following the steps above. The icon should show the OnRaven bird logo.

"Add to Home Screen" option is missing

Make sure you're using Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android. Other browsers may not support this feature.

App opens in the browser instead of full screen

You may have opened the regular bookmark, not the installed app. Delete it and reinstall using the steps above. The installed app opens without any browser toolbar.

Not getting notifications

Check that you allowed notifications (see the section above). Also make sure your phone's Do Not Disturb mode is off.

App is slow or not loading

Check your internet connection. Close the app and reopen it. If it's still slow, clear your browser cache and reinstall the app.

Can't log in on mobile

Use the same email and password as the desktop version. If you forgot your password, tap Forgot password? on the login screen.


Removing the app

If you ever want to remove the app from your phone:

  • iPhone: Long press the OnRaven icon on your home screen → tap Remove App (or the minus icon) → Delete.

  • Android: Long press the OnRaven icon → drag to Uninstall or tap Uninstall.

This doesn't delete your account or messages. You can always reinstall the app or use OnRaven from your desktop browser.
