🔑Set up your new password

When your OnRaven account is first created, the app will ask you to choose a new password. This is a one-time step to keep your account secure. You won’t be able to use the rest of the app until you complete it.

When you’ll see this

Right after you log in for the first time, a modal (pop-up) appears over the screen. It will say something like "Set up your password" or "Create your password" and might show a progress label (e.g. "Step 1 of 2"). You must complete this before you can access the Dashboard, Bots, Inbox, and other areas.

What to do (step by step)

1. Enter your new password

In the first field, type the password you want to use from now on.

  • Pick something only you know — Don’t share it or use the same password as other sites.

  • Make it strong enough — A mix of letters, numbers, and symbols is recommended. Avoid obvious choices like "password123".

  • The app may show requirements (e.g. minimum length). Follow them if they appear.

2. Confirm your new password

In the second field, type the same password again. This way we know there was no typo. If the two don’t match, the app will usually show an error until they do.

3. Submit

Click "Continue", "Set password", or the main button on the screen. The modal will either close or move to the next step (billing info).

What happens next?

  • If you see a second step (billing info) — That’s normal. Enter your billing contact name and address as described in Add your billing info. You won’t be charged until you add a payment method and choose a plan later.

  • If the modal closes — You’re done. You’ll see the main app (Dashboard, sidebar, etc.) and can start using Bots, Inbox, and other features.

After you’re done

You won’t be asked to set your password again unless:

  • You or your admin triggers a password reset (e.g. "Forgot password?" or an admin action).

  • Your organization has a policy that requires periodic password changes (your admin would tell you).

For day-to-day use, you’ll just log in with your email and this password as described in Log in to your account.

Can I skip this step?

No. The app requires you to set a new password when it’s your first login. You can’t access the rest of OnRaven until this step is complete. If you’re stuck (e.g. you don’t remember setting one), use "Forgot password?" on the login page to set a new one and then log in again.
